Job Description
Trainee Utility Surveyor – Altrincham
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Utility Surveyor to join our growing Monitoring & Surveying Division in Altrincham or surrounding areas. The role offers an extensive 12‑month training programme designed to transform you into a skilled surveyor, providing hands‑on experience, mentorship from senior surveyors and long‑term career growth.
As a Trainee Utility Surveyor, you will support our clients by delivering accurate utility surveys, ensuring safe project planning and contributing to our business success.
The tasks you will undertake include:
- Assisting with utility detection surveys using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other surveying equipment
- Supporting senior surveyors in producing accurate utility maps and CAD drawings
- Gathering and recording site data to industry standards
- Working safely on site following health, safety and environmental procedures
- Developing strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Interpreting utility records and drawings to assist in survey delivery
Travel across the UK is common. Candidates must be willing to work away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.
Qualifications
We require:
- A genuine interest in surveying, construction or civil engineering
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in utility detection and mapping
- Good attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- A full UK driving licence
- A positive, reliable, proactive attitude
