About The Role
At Balfour Beatty, we are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant nuclear infrastructure projects at Sizewell C. We are now seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Lead (Electrical) to play a key role in the development and delivery of critical engineering design. As Engineering Delivery Lead, you will take responsibility for the management of electrical engineering design from concept through to delivery on site. You will work closely with internal teams, designers, and external stakeholders to ensure high‑quality engineering outputs are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll influence design development, provide technical direction, and support the successful integration of engineering solutions into manufacture and installation.
Location: Bristol (Aztec West) | Hybrid (1–2 days per week + travel to HPC & suppliers)
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the engineering management of electrical design across the full project lifecycle
- Work with execution designers to develop and approve design management plans
- Ensure design outputs are aligned and consistent across suppliers and delivery teams
- Chair technical review sessions and support resolution of technical queries and issues
- Provide technical guidance to programme teams on design, manufacturing, and installation
- Support design changes and contribute to associated business case development
- Review and accept design documentation to ensure constructability and manufacturability
- Develop technical procurement specifications for key MEH materials and systems
- Drive optimisation, standardisation and continuous improvement in engineering processes
Who we’re looking for
- Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams (Electrical, Mechanical or Ventilation)
- Experience within large‑scale EPC or infrastructure projects (nuclear experience advantageous)
- Strong understanding of electrical design, manufacture and installation processes
- Experience managing engineering delivery from concept through to commissioning
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong knowledge of design assurance, configuration and change management processes
- Ability to gain a security clearance
- You will be a confident and collaborative leader with the ability to:
- Influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships
- Drive solutions in a complex, regulated environment
- Communicate effectively across technical and non‑technical teams
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety and right‑first‑time delivery
