About The Job
Do you want to make a real difference to our community? To protect the public, and help businesses comply with their legal responsibilities. If so, we have an exciting role at Newcastle‑under‑Lyme Borough Council that will give you the chance to start or develop your career within environmental health.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional for the Environmental Health Officer / Food and Safety Officer role. If you have a passion for food hygiene and safety, protecting the public and helping businesses comply with the law, this role is for you. You should have qualifications and experience within the Food and Safety team’s responsibilities.
You will be part of a busy, small, professional team that values collaboration and continuous development. This role offers a varied workload: undertaking food and safety and health and safety inspections and interventions, including at approved premises; using professional judgement to provide clear advice and undertake enforcement action where necessary; investigating complaints and sampling. You will also have the opportunity to develop and enhance your knowledge and skills within the team.
Although most work is undertaken in core office hours, you will be expected to work flexibly and routinely outside of core office hours to ensure service delivery.
