Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: West Sussex

Salary: £45 – 50k annual salary plus competitive package

Responsibilities

• Machinery design for customer projects, R&D initiatives, product development, and cost-saving improvements.
• Equipment testing, occasionally in the presence of customers.
• Take full ownership of design, development, and release of machines for manufacture, and production of build manuals, user manuals, statutory documentation, and testing documentation.
• Hold technical meetings with customers to better understand requirements and issue technical documentation, always adhering to ISO procedures and systems.

Requirements

• SolidWorks competency
• Experience with SolidWorks/EPDM Vault (advantageous)
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Good understanding of pneumatic control systems
• Knowledge of ATEX and CE marking requirements (preferred)
• Ideally 5+ years’ experience within the packaging machinery industry or a related sector

• Salary circa £45,000- £50,000
