Location: Manchester (Flexible Hybrid)
Contract: Long-term – Outside IR35
Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis, supporting delivery on the United Utilities AMP8 framework. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major programme of investment in water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering critical projects across the North West.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of civil engineering designs from concept through to detailed design and construction support
- Produce cost-effective, sustainable, and buildable design solutions
- Coordinate design activities across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, relevant standards, and health & safety requirements
- Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Provide technical input to proposals, planning, and project delivery
- Support delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Mentor and support junior engineers and designers
- Maintain accurate project documentation and BIM compliance
- Engage with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and internal teams
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Demonstrable experience in a civil design engineering role within infrastructure projects
- Strong experience in the xlqdzyr water and/or wastewater sector (highly desirable)
- Background in a design and build environment
- Good understanding of CDM regulations and engineering standards
- Ability to lead technical design work and coordinate teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ideally Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
