Senior Construction Lawyer (Interim) | 3 Days Per Week

Location: South West London. Hybrid (UK)

Contract: Interim | 3 days per week

We are working with an exciting organisation seeking an experienced Senior Construction Lawyer to provide interim legal support on a leisure and sports development project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction lawyer to join a collaborative in-house team, working closely with the project manager and wider project stakeholders to deliver legal support across a significant capital project.

The Role

You will be the lead legal contact for day-to-day construction matters, providing pragmatic, commercial advice throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction documentation, including JCT contracts, consultant appointments and associated project documentation.
  • Advising on a broad range of construction-related legal issues arising during the project.
  • Working closely with the project team and project manager to provide timely and commercially focused legal support.
  • Managing and coordinating external legal advisers where specialist construction, planning or property advice is required.
  • Supporting the wider legal team on construction-related property and planning matters.

About You

We’re looking for a confident, commercially minded construction lawyer who can quickly integrate into the team and operate with minimal supervision.

You will ideally have:

  • 10+ years’ PQE in construction law (although candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered).
  • Extensive experience advising on JCT contracts, consultant appointments and wider construction documentation.
  • Previous in-house experience or significant experience advising commercial clients on major development projects.
  • The ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships with project stakeholders.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to hit the ground running.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role on a landmark leisure and sports project while enjoying the flexibility of a three-day-per-week interim assignment.
