Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Outpatient Physiotherapy Department at Mount Vernon Hospital. The role will involve assisting therapists to deliver care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries and elective orthopaedic patients. You will also need to complete administrative duties using our electronic patient record system.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated and enjoy working with people and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- To assist therapists in the delivery of the therapy service in a variety of in and outpatient settings, as appropriate to role.
- To work without direct supervision, and after appropriate training, within specified clinical areas, undertaking patient assessment, planning, implementing and progressing rehabilitation programmes and interventions delegated by a qualified therapist.
- To act as first contact with patients, in certain situations, and carry own caseload.
- If appropriate to undertake very occasional home visits with other Therapy staff as necessary.
- To undertake all necessary data entry of patient referrals / activity and record relevant treatment notes onto the Trust’s Electronic Notes System.
- General housekeeping tasks including cleaning medical equipment as required and maintaining a tidy and clean environment to aid the efficient running of the service.
- To ensure clinicians’ appointments are utilized to maximum efficiency by monitoring and filling the electronic diaries, reporting any problems to the manager.
- To meet and greet patients, book, cancel, reschedule appointments for patients, file and retrieve patient notes.
- To deal with all telephone calls, voicemail, emails, or any other enquiries / messages using problem solving, analytical and judgement skills to ensure best course of action is achieved.
