I’m supporting an established manufacturer with the appointment of a Quality Assurance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the site’s quality agenda, leading food safety, compliance and continuous improvement while working closely with operational teams to maintain the highest standards across the business.
What you’ll be doing
No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the Quality team, creating a positive culture focused on food safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Managing the site’s Quality Management System, ensuring it remains compliant with customer, retailer and industry requirements.
- Taking ownership of BRCGS, customer and regulatory audits, coordinating audit activity and driving successful outcomes.
- Monitoring quality performance, analysing trends and implementing preventative actions to minimise risks.
- Working closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve site standards and resolve technical issues.
- Managing HACCP, GMP, hygiene and environmental monitoring programmes across the manufacturing operation.
- Reviewing supplier performance and supporting robust raw material, packaging and service approval processes.
- Overseeing microbiological, analytical and product testing activities, ensuring issues are investigated and resolved effectively.
- Providing clear reporting and technical guidance to senior leadership while acting as a key contact for customers and external bodies.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in a Quality Management position within food manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of BRCGS standards, HACCP and food safety legislation.
- Experience leading internal and external audits, including customer and certification audits.
- A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop Quality or QA teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related discipline would be advantageous.
