Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Tewkesbury

Employment type: Permanent

Shift Pattern (Rotating shifts):

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 0600 – 1345 and Saturday, 0600 – finish.Week 2: Monday to Friday, 1345 – 2145.

Salary: £20.59 per hour, plus overtime at 1.25x above 40 hours.

On call

Participate in equipment breakdown call‑out rota. The call‑out rota is roughly one week in six. Retainer of £100 for the week on call. £50 one‑off payment per call out. Hourly rate once clocked in.

Job Description

We are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This is a hands‑on role providing essential support to site operations by responding to breakdowns, supporting preventative maintenance, and ensuring production equipment runs efficiently and safely.

Duties

  • Respond to breakdowns across production and processing equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
  • Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Repair, test and recommission machinery safely
  • Work to strict Health & Safety standards
  • Minimise downtime and support continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

Electrical bias (minimum 70/30 electrical to mechanical split)

Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills

Experience working on high‑speed / automated machinery

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Experience within an FMCG or fast‑paced production environment

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND/HNCD Level 4/5 in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • City & Guilds Level 4/5 Electrical Engineering
  • Equivalent job‑based engineering experience
