Electrical Design Engineer – Water (Wastewater / Non-infra)
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support a growing pipeline of wastewater (non-infrastructure) projects across the UK water sector. This can be a long‑term contract opportunity with flexibility on IR35 status (subject to assessment), offering hybrid working and involvement across the full project lifecycle – from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical design for wastewater treatment projects (MEICA focus)
- Production of calculations, specifications, and technical reports
- Development of LV electrical designs, single line diagrams, and control philosophies
- Support design reviews, HAZOPs, and client meetings
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical design within the UK water sector (wastewater preferred)
- Strong understanding of LV systems, motors, and instrumentation
- Experience producing design documentation to industry standards
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD / EPLAN (or equivalent)
- Ability to operate in a client‑facing, consultancy environment
Desirable
- Chartered or working towards (IET or equivalent)
- Experience on AMP frameworks
- MEICA integration exposure
Package / Details
- £45–£50 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Flexible IR35 engagement (inside/outside assessment required)
- Hybrid working with site/client travel as needed
- Immediate start or short notice preferred
