Role Brief

Associate Data Scientist – Data Science Team, Reading or London.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and extract data from multiple sources to generate meaningful insights.
  • Work on a broad range of client projects in marketing and market research.
  • Develop data pipelines to clean data and create features for analytics and data science projects.
  • Research, develop, and test supervised and unsupervised learning models under guidance of senior team members.
  • Use Python and SQL for reporting and analysis on our AWS data platform.
  • Collaborate with the India-based Data Engineering team and Sales/Market Research teams in the US and UK.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in data science or related field.
  • Must understand the why behind data and how to dig into it.
  • Experience applying a few machine learning algorithms to real client problems and data.
  • Strong skills in cleaning and transforming data for ML models.
  • Self-directed ability to address common causes of poor model performance.
  • Familiarity with common algorithms such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, k-nearest neighbours and experience with scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc. Master’s or higher is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python and Pandas.
  • Ability to write Python code that builds, executes and tests algorithms and models.
  • Understanding of business problems, drawing conclusions from data and recommending actions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document requirements and collaborate with team members.
  • Experience with TV viewing data, TV industry or Media Industry is a plus but not required.
  • Curiosity about data and enjoyment building data visualisations that clearly convey insights.
