Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineering Trainer to join their team in Gosport. Role: Electrical Engineering Trainer

Location: Gosport, fully onsite

Hours: Term Time Only, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: 42,000 Pro Rata

Security Clearance: BPSS required prior to starting

The Role

As an Electrical Engineering Trainer, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging and effective training programmes across the Marine Engineering Electrical Training Group. You’ll combine your technical expertise with mentoring and coaching skills to help learners achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering Electrical Marine Engineering training in line with established training plans and operating procedures.
  • Supporting learners throughout their training journey, providing guidance, coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Assessing coursework and monitoring learner progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintaining and updating training materials and documentation to ensure training remains relevant and effective.
  • Driving continuous improvement and sharing best practice across the training establishment.
  • Taking responsibility for learner welfare, development and progression during training delivery.
  • Ensuring key performance indicators and service level agreements are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • Working closely with Learning & Development and Training Delivery teams to support personalised learning pathways and maximise learner success.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Recent, hands-on experience within Electrical Marine Engineering
  • Strong practical electrical engineering skills
  • Comfortable using IT systems and software within a professional environment

Desirable Experience

  • Previous training, coaching or instructional experience within a military or civilian engineering environment
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification, Defence Trainer Course (DTC), or equivalent instructional qualification
