Job Overview
As the HIV Support Project Lead, you will be the driving force behind the operational delivery of high‑quality support services for people living with HIV across Essex.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of staff and/or volunteers to ensure every individual accessing the service receives person‑centred support, through complex case management or the facilitation of peer‑led support groups.
- Serve as a key link to the wider Essex Sexual Health Service, ensuring a seamless, integrated journey for service users.
- Collate, maintain and report on data relating to service provision.
- Oversee management of staff and/or volunteers.
- Ensure successful completion of an enhanced DBS check.
Qualifications and Essential Criteria
- Masters level qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Highly developed specialist knowledge in HIV and sexual health.
- Experience liaising with sector professionals including counsellors, consultants, psychologists, health advisors and commissioners.
- Understanding of broad sexual health and HIV issues.
- Experience working with marginalised communities or people experiencing health inequalities.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, with experience in a range of settings.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Professional UK clinical registration required for the role; registration will be paid for during the first year of employment.
- Current COVID‑19 vaccination (double vaccinated and booster).
- Anti‑fraud training and use of technology to examine identity/immigration documents required.
