Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am-2.00pm)

Contracted hours: 40 per week

Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.

Overview

Working within modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities the Quality Engineer will be working for a precision engineering business that manufacture components and fabrications for the aerospace, nuclear and defence industry.

Brief overview of duties

  • Support the Quality Manager in maintaining certifications.
  • Conduct product and system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
  • Compile documentation packs to support product delivery and traceability.
  • Provide engineering support for Visual and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine quality standards.
  • Apply First Article Inspection techniques in line with AS9102 requirements
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Use quality tools to detect, contain, and investigate non-conformances, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Define and apply process control methods, including identifying critical control points and developing work instructions

The ideal candidate / Quality Engineer

may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • A strong background at implementing quality systems within a precision engineering environment – aerospace/machining/fabrication or similar
  • Experienced in Lean/problem solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma process beneficial
  • Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer
