About the Role
We are looking for an Extra Care Shift Leader to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Greenacres Court on a part‑time basis. This permanent role is for 24.5 hours per week and involves a rota system that includes early (starting at 7:30 am) and late shifts (finishing at 10:15 pm), working every other weekend and some bank holidays for which enhanced pay is provided.
What is Extra Care?
Extra Care Housing provides assured tenancy in self‑contained flats for adults who have some care needs. The service at Greenacres Court has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of care workers and ensure service users receive high‑quality care.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with colleagues, service users, families and carers.
- Respond to changing demands, resolve problems proactively and maintain a positive working environment.
- Adhere to health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising a team in a care setting.
- Commitment to delivering quality care and supporting empowerment of residents.
- Background in nursing, learning disabilities, health care or related fields is welcomed.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
