Teacher of Music – Blackburn, Lancashire

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire to appoint a talented Teacher of Music. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate educator looking to inspire young people through music in a supportive and well‑established school environment.

This full‑time, long‑term temporary role runs from September 2026 to December 2026, with the potential to become a permanent appointment from January 2027.

The school has a strong reputation within the local community and was judged Good at its most recent graded Ofsted inspection, with inspectors highlighting positive relationships, high expectations and a supportive learning environment.

As a Teacher of Music in Blackburn, Lancashire, you will deliver engaging and creative lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop their musical knowledge, skills and confidence.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Music at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering engaging and inclusive Music lessons.
  • Ability to plan, prepare and assess lessons effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
