MIG Welder – Day Shift

Carnaby, East Yorkshire£16.00 – £18.00 per hourDay shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 16:30Temp‑to‑perm with overtime available.

We are recruiting experienced MIG Welders to join a well‑established steel fabrication and manufacturing business. This is a temp‑to‑perm role offering excellent pay, regular overtime and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a growing manufacturer. You will work in a busy production environment producing high‑quality fabricated steel products for industrial and construction sectors.

Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality welds, working from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• MIG weld stainless steel and mild steel components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Prepare materials for welding, including grinding, cleaning and fit‑up.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.
• Carry out basic fabrication and assembly work when required.
• Work to production schedules and customer specifications.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.
• Follow company health, safety and quality procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous MIG welding experience within a manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience welding stainless steel and mild steel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Flexible to work overtime when required.

Desirable Experience

• MIG/MAG welding experience.
• Welding qualifications or coding certifications.
• Experience within structural steel, heavy fabrication or bespoke manufacturing.
• Experience working to recognised quality standards.
