Storeperson (Forklift Operator)

Job Title: Storeperson / Warehouse Operative (Forklift Operator)

Salary: £28k to start with the going to £30,600 after probation

Location: Banbury

Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

30 days per year, inclusive of public holidays

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage the safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while operating a forklift truck to move stock efficiently within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving, unloading, and checking incoming deliveries
• Operating a forklift truck to move and store goods safely
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
• Loading vehicles using appropriate handling equipment
• Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records
• Ensuring goods are stored correctly and safely
• Inspecting loads for damage or discrepancies
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
• Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations
• Completing basic paperwork or using warehouse management systems

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous warehouse/storeperson experience (preferred)
• Valid forklift certificate (e.g. from RTITB, ITSSAR, or NPORS)
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic IT or stock control system knowledge (desirable)
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks

• Reliable and punctual
• Safety-conscious, especially when operating machinery
• Organised and methodical
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid forklift training certificate
• Good Maths and English skills
• Understanding of workplace safety (aligned with Health and Safety Executive guidelines)
