Director of Market Data Commercial Management

A financial firm is looking for a Director of Market Data Commercial Management to join their team in London.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-stakes negotiations for enterprise-wide market data contracts, maximizing commercial value while ensuring flexible and compliant usage rights
• Manage strategic relationships with major global market data vendors, serving as the senior escalation point and driving vendor performance
• Oversee the global market data budget, implement rigorous demand-management frameworks, and identify cost-saving opportunities across the bank
• Ensure strict adherence to contractual terms, licensing policies, and regulatory requirements to mitigate compliance and audit risks
• Continuously improve the market data operating model, inventory management processes, and internal entitlement tracking
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of commercial specialists; Provide executive-level reporting and strategic counsel to senior business leaders

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in market data commercial management, vendor management, or procurement within a global financial institution
• Proven track record of leading and closing complex, multi-million dollar enterprise agreements with major data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, S&P, exchanges)
• Understanding of market data structures, licensing frameworks, data compliance, and front-office trading environments
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage/develop high-performing teams
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives
