Role
The Mooring Operator’s tasks include mooring and unmooring vessels, rigging and de‑rigging hoses and arms, re‑rigging during cargo/ballast operations, and performing general and planned maintenance as directed. The role requires self‑motivation and the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
Principal Responsibilities
- The mooring and unmooring of ships to the quayside
- Performing pre‑user checks on mooring and lifting equipment, some on gantry’s at a height
- Rigging and de‑rigging of cargo hoses
- Use of hand tools to connect and disconnect cargo hoses between shore and ship manifolds
- Connection and disconnection of cargo arms
- Undertake training as required to comply with company regulations and legislative requirements
- Use of company vehicle for transporting samples to the onsite laboratory
- Perform general housekeeping duties and checks
Qualifications
Requires a full UK manual driving license. Must be able to work shifts of 12‑hour days and nights following the on‑site pattern.
