Support Worker/Personal Assistant –Clovenfordsarea

A young lady living in Clovenfords requires a PA to support her by maintaining her mental and physical health, managing her tenancy, and encouraging/assisting her to access the community.

She has OCD, anxiety, and agoraphobia which she is working towards improving; it is important she has the right support to ensure there is no decline.

5 hours per week to be used flexibly, preferably split between 3 days per week and after 1pm, though days and times can be discussed at interview.

Terms

• Hours per week: 5 hours (flexible)
• Hours of work: preferably split between 3 days and after 1pm, though days and times can be agreed
• £14.00 per hour
• Mileage up to 0.45p for travel to appointments/accessing community
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Position subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• To develop a positive relationship with the client and assist to set and achieve small manageable goals
• To prompt with personal care needs if required
• Assisting to communicate with GP/health professionals/housing as required
• Assisting to attend appointments as required
• Ensuring the home is kept to an acceptable standard
• To support client to ensure their safety and well‑being

Skills and Experience

An understanding of OCD, anxiety and agoraphobia would be advantageous, though experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes.
