Job Description:

We’re setting up for a mixed media children’s series, produced by 3Megos, focusing on the environment, climate change and sustainability. We are looking for a freelance junior researcher to join our team.

As a researcher, you will work across multiple episodes, supporting the script writers, editors and designers to source factually accurate stock materials and gather image references. The production pipeline consists of quick turnarounds, therefore excellent communication and attention to detail is essential. Applicants with a passion for learning more about the world are encouraged.

Work Model

  • Options available for remote (UK) working, studio based in our Worcester office or hybrid approach.
  • Freelance contract, starting asap – mid December
  • Part-time, hours managed per script

Responsibilities

  • First and foremost, it will be important to understand the show’s brand and its content, to ensure we are delivering visual elements suitable for topics and the audience.
  • You will be responsible for assessing episode outlines and scripts to source appropriate stock footage for segments. Using own initiative during research to ensure all avenues of footage on specified topics are explored.
  • Respond to editors, during their assemblies, for requests to find additional materials.
  • Find accurate image references for designers and storyboard artists.
  • Ensure materials found are factually correct, portrays topic accurately and are inclusive and diverse.
  • Track sources of materials efficiently, ensuring records are kept for reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • 1 previous credit as a researcher or similar role is preferred but not essential
  • Demonstration of efficient researching, organisation and resource management is essential
  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft packages is an advantage
  • Good diary and time management skills
