Live-In Caretaker (Full Time) – Single or Couples
Stanlake Park is a historic estate set in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, home to one of England’s established wine producers. The estate combines working vineyards, hospitality, weddings and events, alongside private residential areas. It is a varied and lively environment that requires careful upkeep, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining high standards across both grounds and buildings.
We are seeking a reliable, hands‑on and proactive Live‑In Caretaker to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day upkeep, security, and smooth running of the estate.
This is a full‑time, varied position offering excellent long‑term potential for the right person or couple, with accommodation provided on site.
Key Responsibilities (Caretaker Role)
- General groundskeeping and estate maintenance
- Basic repairs and preventative maintenance across buildings and outdoor areas
- Act as key holder and oversee site security
- Regular property checks and ensure the estate is well maintained at all times
- Driving duties as required (estate‑related tasks, errands, etc.)
- Liaise with external contractors when needed
- Some electrical and/or plumbing knowledge (essential)
- Other trade skills an advantage
For Couples
We are very open to applications from couples. A second role can include:
- Cleaning and housekeeping support
- Light maintenance and grounds assistance
- General ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the estate
There is genuine flexibility and scope to shape the role around the right candidates. Advanced gardening skills are not needed as there is a full‑time gardener on‑site.
About You
- Practical, dependable, and hands‑on
- Trustworthy with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently
- Proactive and able to take initiative
- Previous maintenance, caretaking or estate experience (mandatory)
- Full, clean driving licence required
