A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Executive to join a well-established, not-for-profit organisation operating within the UK’s smart energy sector.

Working on behalf of the UK’s largest energy suppliers, the organisation plays a key role in ensuring customers living in apartment blocks and other complex residential buildings can benefit from smart meter technology as part of the UK’s transition to a smarter, greener energy network.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone from a sales, business development, property, lettings, account management, customer engagement or telesales background who enjoys researching opportunities, building relationships and speaking with decision-makers.

The Role

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for engaging landlords, freeholders, managing agents and property owners across the UK to secure access and permissions for smart meter infrastructure upgrades.

This is a heavily relationship-focused role where success comes from identifying the right contact, building trust, navigating objections and securing consent to enable project delivery.

A large part of the role will involve researching property ownership through Land Registry, online resources and industry databases before proactively reaching out to stakeholders by telephone and email.

The successful candidate will be comfortable picking up the phone, working through gatekeepers and engaging decision-makers to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate records and activity logs using CRM systems.
  • Work closely with internal project teams to ensure smooth progression once consents are obtained.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed engagement and consent acquisition targets.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline activity and project progress.

  • Business Development

  • Strong objection-handling and influencing abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary of £40,000
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the Liverpool Street office
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Birthday off
  • Matched pension contributions up to 8%
