Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Painter and Decorator role based in Ellesmere Port. The Painter and Decorator will prepare and finish internal and external surfaces, including walls, ceilings, woodwork, metalwork, and other substrates, using appropriate paints, coatings, wallpapers, and finishes. Daily tasks include surface preparation (cleaning, filling, sanding, and priming), applying paint by brush, roller, or spray, and ensuring clean, safe, and tidy work areas. The role involves working on a range of commercial and industrial sites, following job specifications, health and safety procedures, and company quality standards. The Painter and Decorator will also liaise with supervisors, colleagues, and customers on site, accurately record work completed, and support the timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven practical skills in surface preparation, painting, decorating, and finishing across a variety of substrates and environments.
  • Experience with different application methods (brush, roller, spray) and familiarity with a range of paints, coatings, and wallcoverings.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including safe use of access equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and follow job specifications, drawings, and method statements, with good attention to detail and quality.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a professional approach to customers and colleagues on site.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to plan tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing site requirements.
  • Relevant painting and decorating qualification (e.g., NVQ or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent experience is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites as required would be beneficial.
