Role Summary

A Crane Service Engineer will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, consult with customers on repair and safety related issues, and complete documentation through a mobile device. The role reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues
  • Complete appropriate documentation through your mobile device
  • Maintain, repair and upgrade customers’ lifting equipment, primarily overhead gantry cranes

Qualifications

  • Apprentice-trained (or equivalent) and conversant with electrical engineering disciplines
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Previous experience working with overhead cranes and hoists preferred; maintaining, repairing, and servicing equipment in an industrial environment essential
  • Based on 39 hours per week, Mon‑Fri
  • Great communication skills; personable due to regular customer contact
  • Health & safety awareness
  • Able to work at height
  • Willingness to work extra hours (paid overtime) and on‑call rota with enhanced premium
  • Hold a current driving licence
