Overview
Live Well is an integrated healthy lifestyle service supporting the residents of Leicester City to improve health and wellbeing through smoking cessation, physical activity, alcohol management and healthy eating. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Engagement Advisor to help create a smoke‑free generation by putting the community at the centre of our work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients, monitor progress and make onward referrals to enhance health and wellbeing.
- Organise and deliver outreach work with priority groups across Leicester, targeting the hardest to reach smokers such as those living in deprived areas, routine and manual occupations, long‑term unemployed, and social housing tenants.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, developing partnerships across the city.
- Build relationships, prioritise tasks and effectively communicate to motivate clients to make positive health changes, including smoking cessation.
- Provide clients with tools and support to achieve health goals and schedule community visits as required.
- Complete the NCSCT (National Centre for Smoking Cessation & Training) programme within one month of commencement, if not already completed.
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience in local community work, supporting behaviour change, and facilitating such changes.
- Understanding of national and local agendas on smoking cessation and the health impact of smoking.
- Dedicated, organised, reliable, and solution‑focused attitude with a ‘can‑do’ mindset.
- Ability to work with diverse people in a variety of situations and communicate effectively.
- Comfortable with active listening, gathering local views, and feeding insights back into programme work.
- Capacity to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet objectives.

Additional Information
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position working 37 hours per week. The role may require evenings and weekends, and office hours are based at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, with travel across the city for community visits. Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Interviews and assessments will take place week commencing 13th of July.
