Job Description
Salary £36,363 – £40,777 per annum. Fixed Term, Full Time, 37 hours per week, pro rata.
Join us as a Social Worker at Adoption, Lancashire & Blackpool (ALB) – a Regional Adoption Agency hosted by Lancashire County Council (LCC). You will have the opportunity to significantly impact the future of adoption, drive innovation within the field and support families affected by adoption across Lancashire and Blackpool.
This role involves:
- Providing support to birth families and adopted adults through training workshops, social events and one‑to‑one support.
- Helping adopted adults understand their early‑life history.
- Hosting peer groups, specialist workshops and peer buddying and mentoring offers.
- Promoting our therapeutic service and co‑delivering workshops.
- Providing a car for duties and ensuring it is insured for business use (a disability exemption may be considered).
Stability and Support
The team is supported by two managers, with regular 1:1 supervision and access to LCC’s full health and wellbeing package. You will also have access to the wider Children’s Services, networking events, and opportunities to share learning with other social‑work teams.
Career Progression
There is a defined pathway for advancement, including opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, pursue further education and training, and gain formal qualifications up to Degree level. A range of internal training courses, development days, conferences and external events are available.
