Temporary Project Accountant
- Salary: £55,000 – £60,000

- Job Type: Temporary (3-6 months)
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our industry client based in Banbridge on a temporary basis for 3-6 months. This role involves working closely with the Head of Finance and supporting a team of established accountants. The primary responsibilities include auditing current practices, ensuring processes are fit for purpose, measuring performance, and making improvement recommendations. You will also mentor the team through a period of change and department optimisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Audit current accounting practices to ensure they are efficient and fit for purpose.
- Analyse and measure current performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations for process optimisation and efficiency gains.
- Act as a mentor to the accounting team, guiding them through changes and optimisation efforts.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance to implement strategic changes in the accounting department.
- Education and preparation of the team on tax, specifically VAT, Corporate Tax & R&D
- Design and implementation of an internal control framework, including Development of SOPs and process standardisation, strengthening control activities, review processes, and audit trails & ensuring documentation and controls are aligned to support external audit
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be a qualified accountant
- Strong commercial background with substantial experience in process improvement and optimisation
- Proven ability to mentor and lead teams through transitional periods.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
