Are you a creative, technically minded designer who wants to see your ideas turn into real‑world products?
As a Product Design Engineer at A‑SAFE, you’ll sit at the heart of our New Product Development (NPD) function, helping to deliver innovative, practical and manufacturable solutions that protect people and infrastructure worldwide.
This is a hands‑on role working across the full NPD lifecycle, from research and concept generation through to prototyping, testing and launch. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, testing teams and manufacturing partners, applying strong design thinking and engineering judgement to solve real‑world problems.
You’ll join a growing design discipline with the opportunity to put your stamp on how we work, influence product outcomes and develop towards senior design roles over time. If you enjoy variety, problem‑solving and seeing products move from idea to reality, this is an exciting opportunity to grow your design career.
How you will make an impact
- Deliver innovative, effective design solutions as part of live NPD projects.
- Apply design skills across the full NPD process: research, ideation, prototyping, testing, DFMEAs and preparation for launch.
- Create and develop concepts using 2D and 3D CAD, rendering and visual communication tools.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, Test by Design and technology teams to balance form, function and performance.
- Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure strong DFM and DFA throughout development.
- Prepare and deliver design outputs, documentation and materials in line with stage‑gate requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks and design rationale clearly to project leads, Head of NPD and wider stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to A‑SAFE’s innovation culture, bringing positive energy and curiosity to every challenge.
What you’ll be working on
- Hands‑on involvement in live product development projects, including a high‑profile product redesign early in role.
