Role Overview

Five Education is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Partner for a supportive and inclusive primary school in South Bristol. The role provides 1:1 support to a pupil with trauma‑informed needs and ASC characteristics, working within a nurturing environment to help the child regulate emotions and engage with learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs.
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management using a trauma‑informed approach.
  • Implement structured routines and personalised strategies.
  • Build a safe, trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Support engagement with learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Calm, patient and empathetic demeanor.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed practice or willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Resilient and adaptable within a dynamic classroom environment.
  • Desirable: experience working with SEN, ASC or children with additional emotional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant are beneficial.

Pay & Working Hours

£88.62 – £100 per day, with increased rates for Level 2/3 qualified Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

Right to work in the UK – sponsorship or Skilled Worker visas are not offered.

Must provide two recent references (within the last two years).

Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

If no Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS is available, a new one will be processed at a cost of £62.70, which will be refunded after 20 days of work.
