Role

As part of this evolution, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Sales Director with responsibility for leading the business development function and driving new business revenue growth. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead a team of sales professionals whilst taking ownership of sales performance, forecasting, budgeting, and the delivery of ambitious commercial objectives. This is a highly visible leadership role with a clear mandate to enhance sales effectiveness, strengthen market penetration, and identify new revenue opportunities.

The Sales Director will play a key role within the senior leadership team, contributing to the wider commercial strategy and helping to shape the future direction of the business. The role requires an individual capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels; providing leadership, accountability, and direction to the sales function whilst remaining actively involved in significant commercial opportunities and senior client relationships.

Responsibilities (highlights)

  • Lead the business development function and drive new business revenue growth.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing sales team; own sales performance, forecasting, budgeting, and delivery of commercial objectives.
  • Contribute to the senior leadership team and assist in shaping the commercial strategy.
  • Strengthen market penetration and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Engage with senior client relationships and collaborate with marketing, finance, product, and operations to support wider objectives.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience as a Sales Director, Head of Business Development, Commercial Director, or senior sales leader with a proven track record of delivering growth in B2B environments.
  • Backgrounds in SaaS, subscription services, information services, digital products, professional services, or other consultative sales environments.
  • Experience leading high-performing sales teams, developing structured sales processes, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial awareness, excellent leadership capability, and ability to translate market opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
  • Credibility to engage with senior stakeholders and collaborate across functions to support wider organisational objectives.
