Project Manager – Defence

Petards are looking for a curious, methodical, and determined engineering professional to join our Defence business as a Project Engineer.

We are seeking someone who understands the UK Defence & Security sector or can apply their knowledge and experience gained within a relatable sector such as Oil & Gas, Renewables, Rail, Military, Policing, etc.

The role plays a key part in delivering technical services at customer sites across the UK and Petards’ Defence factory at Gateshead, in the design, production and in-service support of new-build modern and legacy products.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-service support of legacy products, managing obsolescence, offering Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and processing engineering change for products.
• Solve a range of technical problems, in hands‑on and desktop‑based technical work packages.
• Deliver repair services to customer defence equipment.
• Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including “down the supply chain” external contacts and “up the supply chain” customers.
• Confidently and clearly communicate on technical matters and recommendations for the business.
