About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to our customers’ doors. You will support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping when not delivering, and you will contribute to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Complete all appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road, providing excellent customer service.
- Help customers with their shopping and build a rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team when required with general shop‑keeping tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective time‑management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
- Confidence working independently, self‑motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
- Minimum age 18 years.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role.
- Knowledge of chilled vehicle operation.
Benefits
- Night premium of £3.75 per hour for any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00.
- Varied part‑time hours (Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 06:30 and 22:00).
