Contract & Remuneration
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Location: Aylesbury, with flexibility to travel to High Wycombe as needed.
- Salary: £29,795 FTE plus enhanced hours payment of 30% on top of normal hourly rate for hours worked between 11pm-12am. This calculates as an actual payment of £10,951.67 including the enhanced hours based on the hours below.
- Hours: 13hrs per week – Wednesday & Thursday, 6pm – 12am, and 2 hrs admin time (13 total hours).

Key Responsibilities
- To provide vision and high‑quality line management, support, and supervision to the staff team, in addition to working collaboratively as part of the Buckinghamshire Mind Operational Management Team.
- To provide a warm and welcoming environment for people facing out‑of‑hours mental health crisis as a calming alternative to emergency departments.
- To raise service user awareness of alternative mental health services appropriate to personal need and increase the independence and self‑management skills of those people accessing the service.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven ability to lead, support, supervise, and motivate staff; manage workload effectively; work collaboratively while taking initiative and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emotional crises, high‑risk situations, de‑escalation, safety planning, and suicide prevention.
- Skilled in supporting people with mental health difficulties to build independence, develop self‑management strategies, and make positive change, with a consistently respectful and hopeful attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high‑quality services and build positive, constructive relationships with external agencies and partners.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills; commitment to confidentiality, equal opportunities, diversity, and alignment with the aims and values of Buckinghamshire Mind.
