Job Purpose

Providing dependable and reliable security solutions across multiple roles within a latest Flagship development. The officer must be adaptable to changes in duties and environments whilst the site transitions from its construction phase toward a fully functioning multi‑tenanted site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high security awareness at all times! This is your primary focus first and foremost. Potential threats occur in areas beyond the immediate perimeter of the premises.
  • Deliver a pleasant, welcoming and positive experience at all times – The kind you would like to receive as a visitor to a new premises.
  • Anticipate clients’ needs/problems before they arise and either offer a solution or escalate the issue to your Duty Manager in a timely manner.
  • Reception duties and Foyer Management of all visitors and guests whilst providing a visual presence around the reception area away from the main desk.
  • Be seen as a visible customer focused professional by being proactive and greet clients and visitors where possible.
  • Proficient use of relevant communications equipment in order to liaise with the security/ building management teams and wider tenants and visitors.
  • Issue visitor passes using agreed processes and procedures by utilising provided systems.
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
  • Ensuring that no un-authorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
  • Confidence in the ‘Power of Hello’ and challenging persons you are unaware of and ensuring they are approached in a timely manner.
  • Lift management and directing of deliveries.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.
  • Proficient in all site equipment including (but not limited to) Patrol devices, radios, Body Worn Cameras, tablets, Workstations, CCTV devices, and Access control – If unsure at any time, they seek an expert user and they ask for refresher training.
  • Ensure all landlord contractor access is pre-authorised and in accordance with risk assessment/permit to work conditions.
  • Complete incident reports to a high standard and ensure these are submitted within 2 hours of the occurrence.
  • Oversee and manage any emergency evacuations, including a safe and secure re‑occupation which includes verification of identification credentials.
  • Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with management instructions, including the reporting of leaks, damages or any security vulnerabilities.
  • Assist Building Management to oversee access arrangements for occupier fit‑outs and ensure they adhere to site rules and procedures.
  • Ensure the reception area remains clean and tidy providing a safe environment for all visitors, and report any spillages or issues quickly.
  • Complete a detailed handover at the end of each shift to the officer relieving you. You are not to leave your post without a fully briefed relief in place, nor down‑man site to unsafe personnel levels without express permission.
  • Keeping conversations with service partners brief and work‑related.
  • Personal devices, items or equipment are not permitted for use or storage in client facing areas.
  • Maintain a proactive, ‘can do’ approach to tasks. Dynamism should be embraced, not feared.
  • Completes any routine eLearning or scheduled training in a timely manner and doesn’t wait to be told.
  • Professional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self–motivated team player.
  • Treats working areas and break areas with respect and tidies up after themselves.
  • Reliable and willing to work extra duties time if required and available.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.

  • Look for opportunities to enhance the client/visitor experience if it becomes available.
  • Clear, concise and confident communication skills which are customer service orientated with an eye for detail.

  • Have an acute sense of security awareness around their duty, but also off duty to and from work in the surrounds of the building area.
  • Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
  • Is accountable and wants to learn from any mistakes.
  • Confidence to suggest improvements or better ways of working.
  • Reports any lateness or sickness in a timely manner and ahead of their duty. This includes feeling unwell on duty – You are to report any issues immediately should you feel unwell to your Duty Manager.
  • If they do not understand the reason a task is done, seek out the reasons – there will be one!
  • Maintains uniform to a clean and fresh standard, including own personal hygiene.
  • If unsure of any duty, process, or procedure they seek out the Duty Manager and asks to be trained or reminded.
  • The standards you witness and do not address are the standards you accept.
