Engineering Programme Manager – Humber region

We’re the UK’s largest ports operator, managing a network of 21 ports and handling a quarter of the country’s seaborne trade. We’re currently looking for an experienced engineering professional to lead projects from RIBA Stage 0 through to Tender stage, shaping our port infrastructure for the future.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the overall direction and delivery of assigned Engineering Projects.
  • Ensure the projects team has an aligned and agreed view of performance, delivery expectations and their role.
  • Supervise and monitor all project work completed within the team.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, maintaining high motivation.
  • Ensure compliance with HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Produce robust, detailed plans articulating scope, concept and design of projects.
  • Prepare realistic time and cost estimates.
  • Supervise the preparation of tender documentation/specifications.
  • Liaise with ABP departments, customers, Government Agencies and Planning Authorities.
  • Control contractors, consultants and legal advisers, ensuring quality and programme adherence.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in infrastructure development and delivery in a project management role.
  • Ability to create plans and coordinate project delivery.
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Responsiveness to project adjustments and alterations.
  • Team workflow management ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills.
