Overview

We are currently looking for a Social Worker to join our Children With Disabilities team based in Lincoln or Sleaford but covering the entire County. Whether you are starting out in your career or have years of experience, we may have a role for you.

ASYE Programme (Newly Qualified Social Workers)

During the 12‑month ASYE programme you will receive regular, high quality reflective supervision (weekly for the first six weeks; fortnightly until the mid‑point review at six months and monthly thereafter). You will be observed on multiple occasions, which affords you the opportunity to involve service users and/or carers in your assessment. You will complete Critical Reflection Logs, which is fundamental in developing critical reflective practice. You will also complete formal personal supervision and take part in monthly group learning to ensure you have all the knowledge and training you need to complete your ASYE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your skills, knowledge and experience to manage a range of cases from assessment to ongoing interventions, leading on these from start to finish.
  • Work directly with children, young people, families and other stakeholders to build a brighter future for the children and families of Lincolnshire.
  • Co‑work on more complex caseloads alongside experienced Social Workers to make the right decisions when it matters most.
  • Assess social care needs, support planning and reviewing packages of care for disabled children and young people.
  • Manage complex cases, leading them from start to finish when young people transfer into adult care.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and support and lead students on placement in the teams.

Qualifications

An NQSW undertaking the ASYE, or an experienced Social Worker with experience in children with disabilities is preferred. The role requires the ability to commute across the County.

Legal & Safeguarding

Lincolnshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The role requires compliance with the Fluency Duty, ensuring the ability to converse at ease in accurate spoken English.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £35,412 – £42,839.
  • Flexible working policies including hybrid working and a 9‑day fortnight.
  • Career progression opportunities with an excellent learning and development offer.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement plus the option to buy more.
  • Contributory pension.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including discount schemes and cycle to work.
  • Fully funded PQ modules.
  • Possibility of a relocation package for successful candidates.
