Multiskilled Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated individual who is willing to adapt and learn. Reporting to the Assistant Maintenance Manager / Work Load Co‑ordinator, you will direct, supervise, instruct and assist other Maintenance Staff and contractors in carrying out maintenance duties throughout the hospital and other unit premises, and undertake unsupervised routine maintenance to carry out or oversee the repair, maintenance and installation of complex plant and equipment associated with premises administered by the Estates & Facilities Division.
You will perform your duties to a high standard in an efficient and timely manner and, where you are deemed competent, will also carry out duties in other trades pertaining to Estates & Facilities and the operational function of the Division to pursue a fully flexible workforce. There will also be a need to provide sickness and annual leave cover for the section. You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with all Trust staff.
To succeed in the role you will have completed a time‑served apprenticeship or a similar structured training program, with post‑qualification experience in an engineering discipline and possess an engineering background with a good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and guidance.
Main duties of the job
The Estates Maintenance Department provides a varied range of building and engineering services to Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust to maintain the buildings and associated services in line with current legislation and standards. The department is committed to ongoing training of staff to a high standard, ensuring that the patient environment is safe and cost‑effective.

Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 a year per annum, pro‑rata (enhancements added to base for unsociable hours)
