Apprentice – Painting & Decorating

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop core skills and knowledge to carry out internal and external painting and decorating, preparation works to walls, and minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
• Assist with planned routine maintenance and reactive repair tasks.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to gain hands‑on experience.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will be enrolled on a Painting & Decorating (SCQF Level 6) qualification which normally runs for 3–4 years. You will receive one‑to‑one support, e‑learning materials, and guidance from experts at your office.

Qualifications

• Keen interest in painting and decorating.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Dedication to completing your apprenticeship and growing with Mitie.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4–9 or equivalent) or Scottish National 5 certificates (Grade A–C); certificates must be provided at the interview stage.
