Travel and Transport Officer

Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2028, 37 hours per week, £32,061 to £33,699 per annum (Scale G). Location: County Hall, Norwich.

This role delivers passenger transport services across Norfolk, focusing on organising school transport for children and young people in the east of the county and managing contracts for home-to-school and local bus transport services. It requires a hardworking individual who can work independently, challenge the status quo to improve services while controlling costs, and communicate effectively with parents, schools, transport operators, transport staff, and internal colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organising school transport for children and young people in the east of Norfolk.
  • Managing contracts for home-to-school and local bus transport services.
  • Monitoring contracts and services through regular office visits (at least two days per week).
  • Cross‑working with the team and other Norfolk areas to deliver an integrated service.
