About The Role

Join our Asset & Technology Solutions team as a Suction Excavator Operator. You will be responsible for operating truck‑mounted suction excavation equipment, traveling to sites nationwide, and delivering works that meet operational requirements and customer expectations while maintaining the highest safety and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate suction excavation machinery safely and efficiently on site
  • Travel to and from sites, often working away from home
  • Ensure all works comply with current standards, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a strong focus on Zero Harm and safe systems of work
  • Conduct basic HGV vehicle maintenance and checks
  • Maintain competency certifications and complete required training
  • Build strong relationships with customers and deliver high‑quality service
  • Identify hazards associated with groundworks and manage risks
  • Provide feedback on safety issues and support continuous improvement
  • Work flexibly, including nights and weekends as required

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience operating suction excavators
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Safety Critical Medical clearance
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and groundworks operations
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel nationwide
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, safety‑first mindset

Desirable Qualifications

  • HGV Class 2 licence
  • CPC Drivers Card
  • NVQ in Suction Excavation
  • CPCS Suction Excavator qualification
  • NRSWA Streetworks accreditation
