Job Overview

Support Worker position in Easingwold, requiring a driver, at Mencap.

Responsibilities

Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, helping build life skills, and participating in 1:1 support services offering varied activities such as football, swimming, and outings.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Genuine passion for supporting others• Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays• Positive, empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities• Valid driver licence• Enhanced DBS check and suitable references required• Right to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship• Comfortable working in a 24‑hour care environment

Contract & Working Hours

Full‑time: 37.5 hours per week.

The rota is prepared at least four weeks in advance. Day shifts typically start at 7:00 or 9:00 am and finish between 9:00 and 10:00 pm; these are usually split into two shifts. Certain services include sleep‑in or waking night shifts.
