Role Description The Air Conditioning Install Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining air conditioning systems on commercial and residential projects. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials and tools, installing units and associated pipework, performing system testing, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, carrying out routine checks, completing accurate job documentation, and coordinating with site managers, clients, and other trades. This is a full-time, on-site role based in and around Belfast, requiring regular travel to customer locations within the region as projects demand.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in air conditioning installation, commissioning, and fault-finding on split, multi-split, VRF/VRV, and related systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC concepts, including ventilation, insulation, refrigerant handling, and basic electrical connections.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals, with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices, adherence to regulations, and quality-focused workmanship.
  • Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical engineering; F-Gas certification (or equivalent) highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in air conditioning or broader HVAC installation roles, ideally within commercial or industrial settings.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time on site.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project locations as required.
