Qualified Social Worker – MASH (Children’s Services)

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT)

Salary: £38.43 per hour in line with ADSS pledge

Contract: Initial 12‑week contract with potential for extension

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

Responsibilities

• Screen and assess referrals into Children’s Services.
• Complete enquiries relating to referrals via telephone.
• Undertake risk assessments and analyse safeguarding concerns.
• Liaise with partner agencies to gather relevant information.
• Participate in multi‑agency discussions to support timely safeguarding decisions.
• Ensure children and families receive the most appropriate intervention at the earliest opportunity.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Core hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months UK experience as a registered Social Worker.
• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
• Current registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• The ability to provide 3 years of referencing.
• A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Only consider applicants who are currently registered and meet these requirements; sponsorship is not available.
