About the Role
Join the Children’s Social Care team as a Social Worker responsible for supporting children and young people through robust assessment, SMART planning and effective intervention. You will work within a restorative practice approach, forming partnerships with families and multi‑agency colleagues to address presenting concerns and underlying difficulties. Your role includes leading and coordinating multi‑agency plans and meetings to ensure children and young people are safe and their holistic needs are met. You will work within the frameworks of Section 17 and Section 47, completing direct work with children to keep them safe, ensuring their voice, wishes and views are central to the planning and delivery of care.
Responsibilities
- Support children and young people through robust assessment, SMART planning and effective intervention to achieve positive outcomes within their families and communities.
- Work within a restorative practice approach to form partnerships with families and multi‑agency colleagues in intervening to address both presenting concerns and underlying difficulties.
- Lead and coordinate multi‑agency partnerships, plans, interventions and meetings to ensure children and young people are safe and their holistic needs are being met.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Social Worker with a Social Work degree or recognised qualification, and registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 2 years post‑qualifying practice experience, ideally within a UK regulated authority.
- Demonstrated ability to safeguard vulnerable people and deliver statutory functions, local policy and procedures in a timely manner and documented accordingly.
- Commit to one full week in the office every four weeks as part of the duty rota.
- Willingness to travel outside the borough to visit clients as part of caseload.

The candidate should be able to assess and record a child’s needs using evidence‑based practice to justify decision‑making.
