Job Title: Minibus Driver
Location: Walsall
We are looking for a Minibus Driver to join our team at Rushall Primary School, providing a reliable, safe transport service for children and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a reliable and safe service to children and staff for educational visits, sporting activities and extended school visits, ensuring each passenger is comfortably and securely seated, including wheelchair users where necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance checks such as water, tyre pressures, oil, mirror and window cleaning.
- Keep the minibus clean and tidy after each use.
- Ensure the minibus is adequately fuellled for each journey.
- Collect and drop off students, particularly those with SEND, at designated locations and times.
- Liaise with the Passenger Assistant to maintain a professional relationship and effective communication between school and home.
- Record and monitor mileage and any faults before and after every trip.
- Report any accidents or incidents to the Senior Leadership Team, completing appropriate paperwork and written reports.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of staff and service users by complying with Health and Safety Regulations and safe working practices.
- Check the first aid box, ensuring contents are up to date and replenished regularly.
- Ensure all signs inside the bus are properly attached and in good condition.
- Carry out any other duties as may be allocated from time to time.
- Comply with relevant school policies and procedures.
- Undertake required training for the post.
Pay
Grade 3 Scale Point 4 – 6
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Full, clean UK driving licence suitable for minibus driving.
- Willingness to undergo occupational medical assessment.
Desirable
- D1 category on driving licence; if not held, training will be provided.
- Relevant transport or passenger safety training.
