Job Description:

Job Purpose

We are looking for a junior print designer to join the print and graphics team at New Look. This role requires a highly creative individual who loves colour, print & pattern and enjoys designing prints in a fast‑paced, fun environment. You will be responsible for delivering trend‑relevant, commercial prints for womenswear, LNS and 915, working alongside the print and graphics team and reporting to the Print & Colour Manager.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Design trend‑relevant prints for womenswear, LNS and 915 as needed.
  • Inspire by bringing new ideas relevant to the brand.
  • Stay current with social media trends, influencers and catwalks.
  • Identify key prints for the season and design within the trends to deliver inspiring prints in line with competitors.
  • Work confidently with the buying and merch team.
  • Deliver high‑quality products under pressure.
  • Operate in a fast‑paced, trend‑lead environment.
  • Ensure key print and graphic trends are landed with conviction.
  • Collaborate with the garment design team to deliver key prints for the season.
  • Continuously develop yourself and help mentor less experienced team members.
  • Use Adobe Suite at a high level for overall design and print placement.
  • Understand the New Look customer and their preferences.
  • Contribute to trend and competitor analysis and make recommendations for changes or developments.
  • Maintain ongoing familiarity with the competition’s product range.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external teams.

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience as a Junior Designer within a major retailer or department at New Look or an established supplier – ideally 3+ years.

Qualifications

  • Textiles/Fashion qualification or other qualification at Degree level.
  • Factory‑ready tech pack creation skills.

Skills & Knowledge

  • PC / Mac literate – Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Word, Adobe Suite.
  • Trend awareness and the ability to translate fashion trends into commercial product/print opportunities.
  • Knowledge of the buying calendar (critical path).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities.
  • Broad understanding of the current competitive marketplace (comparative shopping).
  • Customer knowledge and insight.
  • Capacity to build and maintain relationships with design and buying teams.
  • Good presentation and presentation creation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
