Overview

You would be joining our team of eleven in‑house developers. Day‑to‑day work will involve collaborating with statistical researchers and product owners to create, maintain and optimise code written mostly in R and C++, but also in C#, that runs as part of our mathematical models. You will initially work under the guidance of more senior developers and be encouraged to take ownership of your work as your skills progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with statistical researchers and product owners to build and optimise code for mathematical models.
  • Create, maintain and optimise R, C++ and C# code that supports our software stack.
  • Take ownership of tasks and progressively increase responsibility under mentorship.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recent graduate or graduating this year with qualifications covering maths or a maths‑related discipline and software engineering.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a genuine curiosity with a passion for learning new technologies.
  • Experience with statistics and statistical models.
  • High integrity and comfortable handling sensitive information.
  • Can‑do attitude, passion for problem‑solving and a knack for elegant solutions.
  • Desirable skills: C++, R, C#, SQL. If you lack C++ experience, willingness to learn this in the role.

Term and Salary

Term: Permanent. Salary: Starting salary £34,000 per annum plus generous company benefits.

Working Hours and Schedule

Minimum of four days per week up to full time (40 hours over five days). We operate a flexible hybrid model: the role requires presence in the office at least three days a week with workdays starting by 10 am, while we seek to accommodate a working pattern that is beneficial for both you and us.
