Events Systems Officer

37 hours per week

Salary range £26,699 to £28,650 per annum (dependent upon experience)

31 days annual leave (including Company days) + Bank Holidays + 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours

This is a dual based role working from Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire (2 days a week) and from home.

There will be national travel and evening, and weekend working required in this role.

About the role

Working as part of our Events team, you will support the systems and processes that enable competitions to be delivered effectively for gymnasts, coaches, clubs, officials and volunteers.

You will work closely with Event Managers, Technical Committees and internal colleagues to set up events in MyBG (membership system), support online entry, prepare competition information, maintain event webpages and help deliver BG Score at designated national events. This will require supporting the wider team prepping for events, and regular travel to event locations, overnight stays away from home and evening and weekend working as required.

What you will be doing

Attending designated events and assisting with the set-up/break-down of events, as required.

  • Setting up and maintaining events within MyBG and other event systems, ensuring technical requirements, rules, deadlines and event information are accurate.
  • Working with Event Managers and Technical Committees to support competition handbooks, event specifications and online entry processes.
  • Managing data transfer between online entry systems and scoring systems, producing reports, alerts and reminders to support customers and colleagues.
  • Supporting the delivery of scoring and results services at designated national events, including BG Score installation, training, results publication and data management.
  • Testing systems and equipment before events and helping to resolve technical issues during delivery.
  • Responding to internal and external enquiries, providing helpful guidance to clubs, coaches, volunteers, suppliers and event stakeholders.
  • Supporting event administration, including budgets, purchase orders, invoices, supplier liaison and post-event learning.

About you

  • Flexible approach to working hours and locations is key, due to the nature of the work involved in setting up Events, along with experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, contractors or external partners.
  • Excellent planning, organization and administration skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment, helping each other deliver World Class Events, providing an uplifting gymnastics experience for all.
  • A practical problem‑solver who can manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to work with people at all levels.
  • Good IT skills and an aptitude for learning and improving systems and processes.
  • An understanding of events, sport, competition administration, scoring systems or gymnastics would be helpful, but a willingness to learn is just as important.
